Abilis Virtual Direct ISDN Connections
Abilis' technology makes ISDN Dial-Up connections efficient, by allowing just 4 ISDN B Channels to host up to 32 simultaneous, point-to-point voice conversations.
The Virtual Direct ISDN connection supports all the functionality of a conventional leased line.

Due to the compression capabilities of The Abilis system (toll quality voice at an 8:1 compression ratio), up to 32 voice channels can be hosted on just 4 ISDN B channels (over either ISDN basic or primary rate) - a virtual 2Mbit/s circuit emulated for voice.

Data transmissions can be hosted on the same circuit, bandwidth will be used to maximum capacity and far more information will transit across the link due to the compression and integration abilities of the Abilis system.

Abilis Virtual Direct connections are best suited to businesses who have voice traffic between two or more locations, but volume of which does not warrant the annual premiums of a leased line. With Abilis Virtual Direct users will only need to pay for efficiently consumed 'time-on-line'.

Abilis Direct Connection
Customers that have relatively heavy traffic between two or more locations, during office hours and perhaps around the clock, may warrant the premiums of direct connection. Abilis systems offer the ability to connect directly in a far more cost-effective manner than previously.

A user needing up to 30 simultaneous voice channels plus data capabilities can be directly connected via just a 256kbit/s rather than a 2Mbit/s Leased Line with the Abilis Platform. In cases where there is already a Leased circuit in place, the Abilis Platform can be employed to increase the capacity by 8 fold. A single E1 circuit using Abilis, can host up to 240 simultaneous voice calls.

Voice and Data Integration Over xDSL
Make full use of the existing telecom infrastructure in and around Europe with xDSL.

The xDSL products and services allow up to 2Mbit/s to be achieved between any two points within a Local Exchange Area. Both voice and data transmissions can be simultaneously sent across a single circuit. The xDSL modems can be interfaced transparently to any existing equipment at either end of the circuit.

The complete solution is available at a fraction of the cost of standard Leased Lines.

Frame Relay
The Abilis Platform can further increase cost savings by integrating voice and data communications over Frame Relay networks (subject to cumulated latency QoS, guaranteed by the Frame Relay provider). With all functionality available, Frame Relay with Abilis becomes an even more appealing solution.

Connection to a Frame Relay cloud with Abilis permits a site to communicate with many other sites, cost effectively. This provides greater flexibility and larger cost savings than the employment of separate Leased Lines for each connection.

The Abilis Platform supports many different protocols over the Frame Relay network including: SDLC, HDLC and QLLC.

X.25
Abilis supports Packet assemblers/dis-assemblers (PAD), which in turn supports many protocols including SDLC, HDLC, other asynchronous transmissions and Ethernet.

Abilis can be employed to build secure private X.25 networks at speeds of >9.6kbit/s in order to route applications such as order entries, and credit card authorisation from branches.

Abilis have an extensive experience with legacy networks in mission critical solutions across Europe, such as those within large financial houses.

General
The Abilis Platform supports connection to ISDN, Leased Lines, Frame Relay, X.25 and xDSL modems. Abilis protocols support VoFR, VoIP and Voice and Data over a VPN.

A combination of connections will be used to deliver the most cost-effective networks, Regionally, Nationally or Internationally. Abilis provide transparent solutions and interface with existing telecom and customer equipment.

Networks and protocols not mentioned above may be interfaced with and transmitted respectively, subject to specifications.
